Agents & APIs was part of my first day at SF Tech Week. I attended the event at CANOPY Jackson Square as the week’s conversations about building and scaling AI were getting started.

The program named Michelle Marcelline of PromptingCompany, Nihar Nandan of Postman, Quentin Rousseau of Rootly, Chatan Konda of Baseten and Tomas Pozo of Supabase.

  1. Put online learning in a wider context

YouTube and online resources have been a significant part of my learning. Being in the room with builders was part of a different way of learning during this week.

  2. Follow the questions across events

Evals, context, memory and scaling agents were themes I explored throughout SF Tech Week. I am keeping those as overall lessons rather than presenting them as a detailed account of this event’s agenda.

My takeaway

Keep combining online learning with direct conversations. The week gave me more questions to investigate, rather than a finished view of how every agent system should be built.

Thank you to the speakers and organizers of Agents & APIs.
